brellom:

I’ve been giving some thought about where I will maintain my art presence now that tumblr’s no longer a viable platform for my work. I was not inclined towards managing several different platforms at once, but it seems I haven’t much choice in that regard. We’ll see how these roll. Here’s what I decided.

Keep in mind, some of these pages are not up to date with my content, such as my DeviantART, which I haven’t used in years. Expect them to start taking flight as we move into 2019.

Main Base, Communication, Art

Twitter is the most effective way to keep up with me and what I’m doing. I’m very active; I joke a lot, write long threads of tweets about Skyrim, and sometimes I’m introspective. I criticize world events, but I try not to do so too much.

It’s the closest mainstream social media outlet to Tumblr, with it’s chronological timeline. I’ll share art, but they can get lost in twitter’s interface sometimes.

SFW Illustration, Content that is not outright pornographic

DeviantArt will be my dedicated gallery space for the foreseeable future. It lacks the ease of communication that Tumblr had, but it is a mainstream art platform & is designed for gallery curation.

It’s more ideal for hosting high-quality, finished illustrations – which I’ll be doing more of once 2019 begins.

Pixiv
https://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=13459143

image

NSFW Illustration, Erotic, Objectionable

Pixiv is a Japanese website, but there are plenty of Westerners on the platform, and even an English version of the website.

Pixiv’s lenient guidelines make it a great platform for posting erotic artwork. The website allows erotic subjects I don’t often draw, but I enjoy having the creative freedom to pursue those subjects if I ever want to. It supports multiple pages per gallery item, which is great for comics & sketch dumps.

However, genitals need to be censored and YOU need an account to view any erotic content. A bit unfortunate, but these things happen.

Piczel

NSFW Illustration, Erotic, Objectionable

Piczel has been around for a while, but they’re in the process of updating their layout and updating their gallery features. They also allow NSFW content.

Additionally, you are not required to have an account JUST to view NSFW art.

It’s interface is clean, so the focus is entirely on the art. I fully expect to use it’s gallery, which is great if you’re too lazy to make an account on Pixiv. It is also an art streaming website, so that’s cool. I’m willing to try it out.

Streams are the only place where I’m even considering taking on commissions.
Speaking of streaming, also keep an eye on my other outlets:

Art, Support my Creative Endeavors

Patreon is not a social media outlet, but it is a big part of my online presence.

Through Patreon, you can directly support me with by pledging money. This is a big help, as it assures that I can continue to eat & make art. It is my main source of income.

I plan to produce more Female Link comics in the future, and I hope to involve patrons in the creative process, and talk to them about my ideas in general.

Perks Include:

  • Early Access to my art (and ideas)
  • Full Transparency; I keep my patrons informed
  • Dropbox Archive of EVERYTHING (high resolution)
  • NSFW Sketch Suggestions (suggest ideas for art)

Additional Social Interaction and crap

Not social media, but another method of communication.

My discord is often a quiet, little community, but I check it throughout the day. It’s filled with other people who think I’m cool – so maybe you’ll fit right in. There are channels for sharing our art too. Note: I need to step away sometimes, because social interaction drains me. It REALLY drains me.

The rules are fairly simple:

  • Don’t be a jerk. Don’t make me HAVE to moderate you.
  • Properly source all the art you share.

Oh, one last thing:

Here’s a Dropbox Archive of all the art I’ve posted onto tumblr. I don’t know exactly how long this archive will be here, but… Here you go.

Subjects are split across different folders, but the filenames are still the typical tumblr jargon – I can’t rename all of them, since there’s A LOT of content.

But all of the artworks that were drawn for me BY OTHER ARTISTS have been named appropriately; with their identity in the filename themselves; usually their twitter handle, but there’s an occasional deviantart & hentai-foundry username.

I've no doubt you've seen them, but atm my biggest hopes as a replacement are pillowfort or pornhub. Better than newgrounds at least.
Asked by hostform-dawn

I have.

I’ve briefly considered pornhub, as pornhub’s been pretty cool guys overall. They’ve set up some resources for sex education, and they helped that one time in the snow. Though I don’t know if it makes itself a more appealing platform for NSFW content than pixiv (with exception to genital censorship). I’m liable to be able to post more objectionable content though.

I don’t fully know how pornhub operates it’s layout, but one of the things that’s particularly important for “replacing” tumblr is the ease of use and sharing function. The only thing that I know which comes close to tumblr’s reblogs are twitter’s retweets.

Pillowfort’s still in early access, so I don’t have much of an opinion on it yet. I think it’s too early for me to develop one. For the time being, however, it’s not very accessible and it doesn’t match up to the popularity & ease of use that twitter has, so I can’t jump on it just yet.

I’ve said that I think Newgrounds is more a “popular choice” than anything else currently, but I don’t think it’s a bad decision. It just lacks what I specifically need out of the service right now, so I’ll be keeping an eye on it’s development.

If you make a private twitter people have to request to follow and the tweets are invisible until they are approved
Asked by superb-fox

Yeah, but that takes the fun out of being accessible. I’ve mixed feelings on making a second twitter specifically for NSFW content.

I never much liked how tumblr blocked you from this blog unless you were logged into tumblr.

As a big fan of bimbofication, I am not complaining on the influx of bimbrell and bimbo Link.
Asked by kachopper9

Yeah… I don’t fully know how I’m going to go about posting all of that kind of content with tumblr out of the way now. I’ve been using this particular blog as THE place for pornographic art that was particularly objectionable & problematic.

Might have to figure something else out now…

Not really a question, but that hypno-preg piece was honestly one of the hottest things you've produced in ages. Keep up the good work.
Asked by sordcooper

That was an enjoyable little comic, for sure. I don’t feel any of the sequels came close to being as fun as the original.
